How the Shavuot Learnathon works

It’s easy! You help those affected by the recent traumatic attack at the Mercaz HaRav High School by raising money for all of the time the members of your shule, school or Tikun Leil program spend learning during the first night of Shavuot.

Here’s how:

1. Register: Once your organisation enters the Shavuot Learnathon, we will send you a Starter Pack which contains all the forms & information you will need.

2. Recruit: Distribute forms to students/congregants. The form will record how many hours each person learns Shavuot night and also encourages members to seek sponsorship for their own learning. We encourage your organisation to also try to seek corporate sponsorship to donate a certain amount if the shule/school can reach a specific target of hours.

3. Learn: Keep a record of the number of hours on Shavuot night that your members spend learning any Torah they like.

4. Collect: Ask your members to collect the sponsorship money and give it, together with their sponsor forms to the nominated Coordinator at your Shule or School. Members and their sponsors are also able to donate directly online or via phone or mail.

5. Rewards: As a big ‘thank you’ for participating in the Shavuot Learnathon, we will send your organisation a certificate and for the highest fundraisers, some great learning rewards.

Not only is it easy and fun learning and earning great rewards in Olam Hazeh and Olam Habah, but you also help change the lives of young students affected by terror.
